In March we did candle making which was an excellent evening, great value for money at £5 a subsidised rate.  To attend a workshop ran by the craft company would normally be £40.

April was a talk by Ian Aurthur on Anecdotes of an Armed Police Officer

Anecdotes and stories about the specialist side of Policing. Ian was an Armed Response Officer and Police Close Protection Officer (bodyguard) for the last half of my 30-year career in the Metropolitan Police. He was involved in armed operations and looked after some high profile, well known UK politicians and visiting heads of state A side of policing which the public are largely unaware of.
